Vilasiny graduated from University of London with a degree in Bachelor of Law before pursuing her post degree qualifications, the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP). Ms. Vilasiny had commenced her pupillage in Messrs. Ravi Ram & Vjay Aziana, under the tutelage of Mr. Ravindhran Ramanujam (a senior member of the Malaysian Bar) and later was called to Malaysian Bar as an Advocate & Solicitor of High Court of Malaya. She then joined Messrs. Lee Gan Teo & Wong as Junior Legal Associate whereby she specialized on Debt Recovery matters and was entrusted with long standing Clients of the firm.
Due to her sheer hard work and to meet the growing clientele demands of hers, she then decided to start a firm whereby Vilasiny Gannasen & Co was established in 2020.
Upon the inception of Mr Alex Gan as the Managing Partner of the firm in 2021, Ms. Vilasiny has co-founded Vilasiny Gan & Co and has then held the position as the partner in charge of the firm's Dispute Resolution division.
Her practice areas are mainly on General Civil Litigation, focussed on Defamation, Money Laundering matters, Tax matters, Contract disputes, Bankruptcy and Winding up matters, Divorce, and Industrial Tribunal matters.
Besides the legal arena, Ms. Vilasiny also recognizes the importance of forging international relations. In 2017, Ms. Vilasiny had the rare honour of being one of the select few to be a Youth Ambassador by Sports Ministry of Malaysia for the Ship for Southeast Asia and Japanese Youth Program, assigned to strengthen mutual understanding and to promote cultural diversities among the international youth. Further, Ms. Vilasiny had also received Duke of Edinburgh’s Award by Prince Philip for her service to the society.
She is also a strong believer of justice and always strive to achieve justice in each and every matter she handles.
